Residential Flat Roof Replacement Ingersoll Ontario

Well, Legacy Roofing & Sheet Metal is back for another season!

And what a beautiful week of weather we were having in Ontario.

This project we were at a residential home in Ingersoll Ontario to replace a flat roof that was leaking.

The owner had a single ply system. One section had an overhang from the shingled roof with an eavestrough.

Our job was to make sure the 1 ply system is ok and sturdy enough to roof over with a 2ply cold adhered system.

We removed some of the single ply membrane to inspect the roof, and unfortunately found some rotted plywood, which was the cause of the water issues in the home. We removed some 4×8 sheets, and got some new plywood in.

Side note: this is a good reason to have a professional flat roof installer help you out in case you miss things like this. And only good flat roofers will properly inspect the substrate before roofing over it. So never assume the base is in top condition, always inspect it.

Once we got the new plywood in, we had a sturdy and stable substrate to put the new 2ply system on.

You can see the results in the video – the job turned out great. We put new flashing around the perimeter. The overhang detail was very tricky, but we were able to waterproof it, brought up the membrane nice and high and finished it off.

We thought the project turned out great, we even have Luke the homeowner’s thoughts on working with Legacy Flat Roofs too! You can watch his video testimonial  here.
